We live in Apopka, FL which is about 40 minutes north of Kissimmee. It was me and my boys; 2.5 and 4.5 yrs old. They’ve never been on an airboat. Making the reservation was easy. Meeting Capt. Jim was easy. We had three super nice girls from Cleveland; Angie, Shakira, and Jaylin?? Hope I got then right. Who were on the boat with us. They were so nice to us (Thank You girls).
Capt Jim; He is a soft talking man who clearly loves old Florida, the marshes, the swamps, the plant life, and the animals. And he clearly enjoys taking people on these trips. He educated us on the Eco system, the waterways, where they go, and the importance of Shingle Creek right here in Central Florida being the headwaters of the Everglades!!! Capt Jim showed us big alligators, baby alligators, bald eagles (I learned today that Florida; maybe Central Florida has the highest concentration of Bald Eagles anywhere in the USA) and pointed out many other species of birds and even snails.
Capt Jim was so good with the boys. We had a phenomenal 1 hour trip.
We will be back. The boys and I loved it. We will do 2 or 3 hours next time.
Thank You Capt Jim.
There are so many things to see and do on an airboat tour into Central Florida. i have been on these waters for over 35 years and i am still awed with what I see every day. Nothing remains the same from season to season in the swamps of Central Florida. I truly enjoy the curiosity of children and the questions they can ask. As I tell parents it is their way of learning and i am proud to be a part of that.
See u on the swamps
